Personal Statement
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. Like so many high school baseball players, I love the game. I love playing it, I love the strategy involved in every decision. I love watching the game and I love trying to better myself at the game. When I look ahead to college, I am excited not only at the prospect of playing ball at the collegiate level, but at the prospect of studying for my career. My ultimate goal is to work for a college or a professional organization in the field of sports analytics. I love all sports and I love numbers. I take my academics very seriously, which is why I am trying to find a college with a superior academic reputation as well as one with excellence in baseball.
As far as my athletic future is concerned, it is important to me to find a baseball program where I can contribute to the culture and atmosphere both on and off the field. I want to keep developing as a player, so it is important to me to find coaches who are willing to invest in me. In return, you will see tremendous passion and a willingness to work hard and get better. I am very teachable, and I respect people who have a similar passion and knowledge of the game because I still have much to learn.
Finally, I am not an extrovert, at least not at first, but I am a very friendly person who likes to be around people, especially my teammates. I am not a vocal leader, at least not yet, but I do like to lead by example in the classroom and on the playing surface.
Thank you again for taking the time to read this. I look forward to meeting my next set of coaches when that day comes and taking that all-important next step.
