Personal Statement

My name is Johnathan Porter (NCAA # 1806218642 & NAIA ECID#785213) and I am currently an 11th grader and starting Varsity Center at Crowley High School in Crowley, Texas. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and I am taking all AP courses with the hope of attending college and obtaining a degree in architecture or entrepreneurship.

I’ve played tackle football for 12 years beginning in Kindergarten because I have a strong passion for the game.  During my 12 years of playing football, I have played all positions on the offensive line including Left Tackle, Guard and Center. During the off-season I participate in my school's strength and conditioning workouts, attend college camps and train with Offensive Line Technique coach Tony Johnson (@kickslide) and Robert McAllister (@CoachMack28) to ensure I remain in shape.

To prepare myself to play at the college level I have set a couple goals that will guide and motivate me to remain on track and achieve my goals which include:

  1. Commit to working as hard as I can in the classroom and be the best student I can be at all times.
  2. Commit to doing everything I can to improve my athletic performance through practice, training, attending camps, watching video and coaching/mentor-ship.
  3. Commit to representing myself, my family, my community and my school as an Athleader (Athlete/Leader).

I am a coach-able young man and I return the favor by serving as a role model to young children in my community and I work toward helping them accomplish their dreams.
