Coaches, I am a 3-year defensive starter for a 6A D1 high school in Texas, Class of 2026. I have played football since age 6 and it has been a long-time goal of mine to play college football while earning a college degree. Most of my youth & middle school football years were spent training and playing Quarterback. During spring football of my Freshman year, i was given the opportunity to try moving to Defensive Back and earned a Varsity starting position in the Fall of my Sophomore year. In a high school program of our size, this is a rare opportunity for a Sophomore as I was one of only 4 on Varsity at the beginning of that season. I finished my Sophomore season with 20 tackles, 4 PBU and 2 INTs and received 2nd Team All-District honors in TX District 4-6A.
I started the first 7 games my Junior year before getting injured in Game 7 going up for a crucial INT in the end zone. I missed the final 4 games of the season but am fully recovered with no expected long-term impacts from the injury. Despite the games missed, I again received 2nd Team All-District honors for my Junior season.
I've been elected as one of 6 team captains for my upcoming Senior year and am looking to make a move to Safety. I think my many years training at QB and 2 years of Varsity experience has given me the ability to read offenses at a high level and lead our defensive secondary. I'm hard at work this Spring to make my Senior season the best one yet.
