Personal Statement


I have played and loved soccer since the age of 4, which led into my love of kicking and punting in football.  My grandfather was a punter and held a state record in Texas.  He showed me how to punt starting in 5th grade.  I began kicking for my junior high team in 8th grade.  while I missed the first two PATs, I have made every PAT and field goal opportunity since then.  I have also been mentored by Jared Zirkel, the kicker for Georgia and family friend, since 8th  grade when I decided that I wanted to seriously pursue kicking through college and possibly beyond. 

I learned to project my voice and speak publicly without fear through my leadership role as centerback in soccer (calling out plays and keeping the team's formation tight).

I currently have a 3.8 GPA and I have participated since Kindergarten in the gifted/talented program in Katy ISD.  

During college, I would like to study Sports Agency/Management and Business while playing football as a kicker and punter at the collegiate level.  After college, I would like to continue my participation in the sport by becoming an advocate and agent for professional athletes.

  • Currently ranked the #8 punter nationally in the class of 24, and #23 nationally overall, Waller recently competed at the National Invitational Scholarship Camp in July of 2022. He scored 101 points in punting and 98.8 points on kick-offs.

  • Now Ranking #12 Punter nationally for Class of 2024. Waller had another strong showing at the 2022 Kohl's Future Stars Invite. He was improved on his field goal striking and was able to chart 7 points at camp and also charted a big ball of 59 yards with 3.51 seconds of hang time. He flashed his potential in punting at camp once again and was able to chart a big ball of 49 yards with 4.37 seconds of hang time.

  • Waller attended the 2021 Kohl’s Texas Winter Showcase, where he showed plenty of potential. He scored 89.05 points for his average score during the kickoff charting while averaging 44.38 yards per punt, his best of the day was 54 yards with 3.79 seconds of hang time. Waller shows tremendous consistency and attention detail which will help to carry him through as he continues to grow into his frame.

  • KOHL'S COMMENTS Waller attended the 2021 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp and continued to show great progress as a combo specialist. He was able to score 18 points during the field goal charting and added in his best kickoff in the last session with a 63-yard kick with 3.31 seconds of hang time. He added an impressive punting performance with several punts with over 4.2 seconds of hang time. Waller will continue to progress as he focuses on consistent ball contact to match his swing power.

  • College Coaching Players are coached on the field by college coaches during morning and afternoon sessions. Exposure to different coaches is maximized as players train with a variety of coaches throughout camp. One-on-one interaction between players and coaches is emphasized (on-field training, in the classroom, and even at lunch). Each player receives a 1-on-1 evaluation from a college coach at the conclusion of camp. College Mentor College coaches serve as your mentor to guide you in your soccer and personal development. Each player will have 1-on-1 meetings to review an honest evaluation. Players will get specific feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. Evaluations are honest and meant to prepare players for the next level. Interaction and asking questions is encouraged. Training & Gameplay Players will participate in both college-style training sessions and tournament-style gameplay at camp. Training sessions are in small groups led by college coaches. Coaches put players through the same sessions as their college freshmen. Players will be assigned to teams for tournament-style gameplay. Teams will be coached by college coaches.

  • ur 2-Day ID Combines are designed specifically for potential student-athletes that are currently in high school or college between the ages of 14 and 19 years old. Hosted at the incredible athletic facilities of High Point University, campers will be challenged with training sessions and given the opportunity to play competitive matches throughout the camp. This is double the exposure of our 1-Day ID Camps that consist of just two time slots. We do cap the number of participants to maximize player contact with our High Point University Coaching staff and outside college coaches. With that being said be sure to sign up early as all of our ID Camps and ID Combines typically sell out.
