When I was 5 years old, the first thing I ever did was martial arts. I specifically chose to do karate and it has taught me many things physically and mentally. Karate has taught me how to be a good role model and have good character. Karate emphasized the importance of character such as discipline, respect, honor, humility, responsibility, obedience, and many traits that are very important in a person. Karate has also taught me what it's like to push past my physical limitations and overcome many fears and challenges. In addition, karate has helped me with lots of physical attributes like flexibility, strength, quickness, speed, hand and eye coordination, vision, agility, cardio, and more. I am currently still doing karate and am now a 1st degree black belt. Doing karate for so long has provided me with the discipline to stay dedicated to doing everything I can to be better each day no matter how I feel or whether I want to do it or not. I not only bring these physical attributes to the field with me today, but also, I display each trait on and off of the field. I am a person who is not afraid of competition and is willing to compete with the best no matter what. I am very coachable, and I accept any criticism given to me. Yes, I want to go to college to play football, however education and grades are just as important. I am looking in majoring in sports management as well as English literature. I am willing to put in the time, hard work, and dedication not only for myself but ultimately for my team.
