Shay Kasteler '18 Recruiting Profile

Since I was four years old, sports has always been the center of my life. Football is my main sport, but I also enjoy basketball, baseball, track and field, rugby, and soccer. One thing I love about sports is how a team becomes a family unit, we all become one, and nothing comes between us. Sports has also taught me many important life skills such as never giving up, pushing myself harder each day, lead by example, and be a positive influence to those around me. My teammates are my brothers, I will always support them and be there for them, no matter the challenge. We have all had our challenges in life, myself especially included, but with much determination, I strive to be the best that I can and help my team to be also.  I am very passionate about football, I may not be the biggest on the team, but when I step on that field, it sure doesn't show.

With my love of sports and helping those around me, I would like to peruse a degree in physical education/teaching, and also in journalism. There is only one thing I love more than sports, and that's my family. My family, especially my mother, she has helped me become the person I am today.
