Personal Statement
I first fell in love with the game of football when I was 10 years old watching my high school "Briar Woods" on Friday nights. The atmosphere was electric and I knew that's what I wanted to be a part of. Now going into my senior year, I'm looking to continue my football career and play at the highest level possible while obtaining an outstanding education and helping a team win. This past year as a team captain I've learned how to motivate others depending on the player and how to set an example for others to follow on the team to succeed. I have always been a competitor. Whether it's a playoff game or playing my friends in Xbox, I always want to win and will do whatever I can to do so. This competitive nature has also served me well in school as I'm always trying to do the best I can and never be satisfied. I don't settle for a "B" or second place, it's about winning. Off the field, I attack my life and take things head on. I have 8 students age 6-12 I give piano lessons to every week. I attend a religious class for my church every morning at 6:30 AM. I also take many volunteer opportunities to give back to my community by volunteering at local food banks, helping out at the nursing home, watching a neighbors adult son with special needs, organizing clothing drives for the homeless in D.C. and helping organize a breakfast as a "Thank You" to our hard working schools custodians.
