Hi, my name is Caden Lawlor, and I am a class of 2023 kicker with the goal of kicking at the college level. As a Freshman I decided to try a new sport out of my comfort zone and went out for football. I have played soccer for over 10 years, and as I was new to football, I thought that being a kicker was the most realistic way to get on the field. Over the past two years, with regular practice, I have progressed to the point where I can kick 45+ yard field goals consistently. I am certain that I have not reached my full potential and I'm fully dedicated to the process of continuous improvement.
I thoroughly enjoy kicking. It is skill of both self-reliance and teamwork. I appreciate the repetitiveness of practice and the steady improvement of my accuracy and distance that come from that investment. I enjoy the team aspect of kicking and realize that individual achievements on the field are a direct result of my teammates performing at a high level.
As a lifetime athlete, I feel that I continue to improve how I deal with pressure. My youth sports experiences have provided me with numerous pressure situations that have proven valuable to how I manage emotions. I would describe myself as responsible, accountable, calm and focused, and I believe that I will be an exemplary student-athlete at the college level.
