Cal Durni '14 Recruiting Profile

I am a 2014 Defensive End from Brookfield East High School (WI).  As a Senior, I was named 1st Team All-Conference in the Greater Metro, which is arguably Wisconsin's most competitive conference, and also was named All-Suburban.  I was voted Team Captain, and earned the Greater Metro Conference Scholar Athlete Award.  I battled through some injuries as a Senior, but gave it everything I had and don't have any regrets.  I finished the year with 50 tackles and 10.0 tackles for loss in 9 games.  My team finished 5-4, and made the playoffs for just the 6th time in school history.  I also was a starter and contributor as a Junior.  My team started out 10-0 that year, and won our school's first ever undefeated Conference Championship.  I finished that season with 29 tackles.  On a side note, I played Linebacker from 5th grade through the end of my Sophomore year, and think I could easily make the transition back in college.

I am immensely grateful for my teammates and coaches at Brookfield East, and will always cherish the time I spent playing with them, but my Senior season left a bad taste in my mouth.  I don't feel as though I reached the individual goals I set for myself, or the goals we set as a team.  Now, I am more motivated to play college football and help my team win, than I have ever been about anything in my entire life.  My work ethic has always been something that's helped me stand out, and I guarantee to any potential college football programs, I will outwork any potential recruit.  My dream has always been to play college football at the highest level possible, and I hope I'm given that chance.

Currently I am 6'2" 225 lbs, run a 4.65 forty yard dash, and carry a 3.7 GPA.  This offseason, I'm not wasting any time.  I will continue to be in the weight room on a daily basis, and make even bigger physical gains than I did last year, preparing myself for my college football career to the utmost of my ability.
