I realize playing lacrosse is a gift; one I might not have for the rest of my life.  However, the lessons I acquire while playing will last a lifetime.  I am more aware than ever that I have an opportunity to become better prepared for adulthood after years of playing as a kid.  I have learned that the game is bigger than  winning and losing; It is about sportsmanship, accepting defeat and moving forward, looking a player in the face after battling and saying,  "good game," and much more.  Character is everything.  Focusing on skills like this can make you not only a better lacrosse player, but a better person overall.  What makes me different from everyone else is that I will not take any of this for granted.
