I remember as a little boy sitting on my steps fervently drawing pictures for the police officers and firefighters who were battling a house fire next door. To me, a small 4 year old boy, they were heros. That day I knew I wanted to be a police officer and be a hero for other kids.
At 6" 4 of course you will have the high school basketball coach come to you to say "your mine son". Playing basketball is not only something I love, but it also allows me to influence other kids, younger kids, to play a sport I love while being good people.
My mom has always said, " God gave you your talent because he knew you would do good with it. He can take it away just like he gave it." I try my best to be a good role model and show good sportsmanship because I want to be a positive influence on people. Do I think I'm a great basketball player? Absolutely not, because if your great at something then you have nothing else to learn. Trust me, I have a lot to learn.
I want to play college basketball and be a police officer for the same reasons. I want to positively influence people and make a difference in the world. With my hard work and dedication I feel I can truly be the athlete and man I was created to be.
