* I promise that what I say is really me and not just me saying what I think you want to hear.
Q: What makes you a good candidate for their team?
A: Well, I was taught that without the three D's one will not become successful in whatever they want to pursue. Desire, Dedication, and Discipline are the three Ds. One can have the desire to become the best basketball player on the team and dedicates time to pursuing that goal but without self-discipline, pushing oneself, one will not succeed. Someone can have the desire and discipline but without putting in extra time, that dedication they will fail. And it can go without saying that without the desire of wanting to achieve a certain goal they will most definitely fail.
I believe I have the three Ds, I want to become the best basketball player I can be. I will wake up at any hour of the day, stay up however late to put my time into getting better. I will push myself to exhaustion, I will push myself to the limit and then some. This applies to both athletics and academics.
Q: What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics?
A: I am not the smartest, no definitely not but I am a good student and want to keep it that way. I am a pretty athletic person, participating in three different sports this year as well as the past 2 years. I am shorter compared to the Ideal 6'2-6'3 point guard or the 6'5-6'6 shooting guard but I intend on not letting that stop me and will learn how to use my height to my advantage.
Q: What are your collegiate goals and aspirations?
A: I definitely think that one of my goals for myself right now is to find a better understanding of how things work in college. My goal academically is to go into a field of study I will enjoy and right now that is zoology. And not just sitting in a lab or classroom all day but kind of going outside, getting my hands dirty doing fieldwork.
My goal in athletics is to continue my basketball career and use the tools college can give me that I can't get in a small town to better my skills and maybe even play with the pros.
