Personal Statement

Hi Coaches.

My name is Kurt and I'm a rising senior at Juneau-Douglas High School in Juneau, AK. I had great Freshman and Sophomore seasons at Thunder Mountain High School. All of my averages went up and I had a Sophomore-season high 31pt game making 7 three's (out of 9 attempts). I am a strong, consistent shooter, and have no problem driving it in. I am also a strong, award winning free-throw shooter. I spend 4-6+ hours a day (in the Summer) in the gym working on my strength and conditioning, as well as, participating in non-stop pick-up games. During the school year I average 2-4 hours a day at the gym - strength/conditioning/games. My first year at Juneau-Douglas HS was for the 2024/2025 season. I had a great experience playing at the varsity level for Coach Casperson and made a lot of improvements. At the conclusion of that season I was awarded MVP Swing Player and Most Improved Player. I am looking forward to finishing strong next season - my senior year. I have a strong work ethic on and off the court. I am coachable, respectful, and responsible. My faith, academics, athletics, and relationships are very important to me, and I work hard to ensure I show up for all of those things. I currently have a 3.7 GPA, and am enrolled in all AP/Honors and Dual Enrollment classes this year. I am 16, 5'10", and 160 lbs. I am looking forward to the growth in my academics and athletics next year for the conclusion of my high school career. For college, I am interested in pursuing a degree in Sport Management. Thank you for taking the time to look at my NCSA profile. Hope to talk to you soon.

-Kurt
