Jathen Mills '21 Recruiting Profile

The highlight of my high school career thus far was being named the National Championship Runner-Up for NACA (National Association of Christian Athletes) in the 18-19 season and also being invited to participate in the 1st NCAA Basketball Academy in Houston, TX where I was able to showcase my talent and learn from over 60 Division I college coaches. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete after receiving the "Player of the Year" award as a junior even though we had four seniors already committed to play college basketball next season(2 DI, 1 DII, and 1 NAIA). That experience helped me grow as a person and helped boost my confidence that I too am capable of playing at the college level.

I was fortunate enough to be part of an amazing program that has a winning tradition posting a record of 94-12 over the past three seasons accompanied with a NACA National Championship in 2017, a top 10 ranking by MaxPreps in 2017, a 2017 and 2019 TCAL Championship and last but not least a 2019 NACA National Championship Runner-Up. I learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, communication and leadership those past seasons and I'm very excited to continue enhancing those traits as I go into my senior season.

I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.  As a team captain on an elite high school prep team, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
