Yaroslav Poiarkov '22 Recruiting Profile

Sports are a  big passion in my life. I have been playing since I was 7 years old, my first sport was traditional karate. It gave me an understanding of the importance of harmony of body and mind, and also taught me discipline and perseverance.

 When basketball came into my life - I fell in love. It gave me so much motivation , that I would wake up at 4 am in the morning, and watch NBA and NCAA matches live (we have a big-time difference with the USA in Ukraine),  then I would go to school and not skip a single workout. I was determined to become an amazing basketball player.

Today I am here in America, in the homeland of my favorite sport, modern technology, and innovative business. I truly believe that I have abilities and potential that should be revealed. I want to change the world for the better and my life credo is to learn from the best both in business and sports. This is why I chose US  as the best opportunity for my future self development and improvement.
