Jacob Wrencher '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello all. My name is Jacob Wrencher and I am an incoming Senior at Milpitas High School, in Milpitas, California. I am a 6'7, 195 pound combo guard who can set up an offense and orchestrate a team, as well as stuff the stat sheet in terms of rebounds and assists. I'd say my size and my ability to handle the ball like I am 6 feet tall is my best trait, since it is easier to break down defenders around my size and above, as well as work in the mid post against smaller defenders. I also believe I am a pretty great passer coming of the pick and roll, whether it's hitting the big man on the roll or seeing the skip on the opposite corner and wings. On another note, while basketball is important to me, I know that academics always come first. I finished the past semester with a 3.4 GPA as of right now. Once that season had ended, I had a lot of free time on my hands, and therefore the past off season I've been grinding in the gym everyday, waking up early before school doing skill work, lifting weights/working on my body after school, more skill work after weights, and then going to school and practice. The result has been better finishing at the rim and a 8% gain in my 3 pt shooting at 39.2 % so far this season. This season we are one of the top D-I schools in Northern CA and right now my focus is on winning and continuing the momentum into post-season play. Some of my accolades from the past high school season include; leading scorer, leader in rebounds, first team all league,and all bay-area honorable mention. Currently in my senior year (24-25) I'm at 13.7 ppg. This is done from last year, but I'm taking less shots due to the talent level of my team. We have won the last 14/15 games and we return all five starters. So this season I've been focusing on being a more efficient playmaker and ballhandler.

***Update we just wrapped our historic team run. We finished 24-5 winning our league outright (11-1). We lost in the 2nd round CIF NorCal region. I averaged 20ppg in my two NorCal games and I was privileged to be honored with a 1st Team All League selection and 2nd Team All Mercury Bay Area slot. I finished my 4yr Varsity career with 1142 pts.
