Shawn Matthews '18 Recruiting Profile

 The irreplaceable qualities I demonstrate on and off the basketball court are my hard work, focus, and leadership traits. I would like to pursue my dream to play the highest level of basketball possible...but getting the best education possible is of the uppermost importance. I am looking for the best fit not nessecarlily the best name in a school. I understand the importance of great education and thus I'm  preparing myself for a future after basketball. School is my main focus with Basketball being a very close second. I purse my education and basketball with equal passion.  I work around the clock in order to perfect my game and become the best player I can be. My parents have given me the opportunity to see and pursue my goals and dreams. With such a great support system and my passion to excel I know I will be successful at the next level.

As to my playing style, I'm an elite shooter who has a inept ability to read the floor. I excel at slashing to the basket. Although I am very skilled offensively I still play with 110 percent energy on defense. I hustle for every loose ball and fight furiously on the offensive and defensive boards.
