I am from Gainesville Florida and I am 6'1" and 175 lbs. In High School, I was a varsity player since my sophomore year. During my time at GHS we won the FHSAA 5A State Championship (2009) and we lost in the Regional Finals (Elite *8) to end the 2009-10 season with a final record of 24-7. 2010-11 was a down year for us but my personal highlight was a 33 pt game and another game where I recorded 8 steals. I have been in a winning programs and I know how to win. I believe I will bring that skill to any program. In fact I have been on winning teams since I was nine years old. In my last season in HS I had 20.5 ppg., second in steals at 1.7 spg, third in assist at 1.5 apg, and fourth in rebounds at 3.0 rpg,. I led my team in 3 pointers made and our area in 3 pt shooting pct. at 40 %. I have been selected to the All Gainesville Sun Teams.
Since HS I played the 2011-12 season at Alabama Southern CC in Monroeville, AL as a freshman. My stats are available on line at http://www.acccsports.org/frames/linkpage.jsp?pagedisplay=10&colleges=accc.
During the 2012-13 my sophomore season I played an injury plagued season at Santa Fe College in my hometown earning Honorable Mention All-Conference. My 2012-13 season stats are here: http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2012-13/div1/players/mattjacksonj5hi
Letters of recommendation are available upon request from my past coaches.
In HS I was rated a 3 star player by Floridahoops.com and was ranked as the top 12 returning scorers for Shooting Guards by www.MaxPreps.com for Florida.
I have a current GPA of 3.00 and will have enough semester hours at the end of this semester at SFC to earn my AA.. I am looking to play at the next level and attend a college or university in the Southeastern Region. If that's not possible then I will play wherever. I realize that basketball can be my ticket to the education I need to realize my goal of being successful in life. I am willing to work to get this done, by whatever means necessary. I desire a scholarship to help my family offset the cost of my education.
