Najee Coursey '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Najee Coursey, I am youngest of four siblings. Some of my goals and aspirations follow a legacy of athletic players. In my exploring of various sports ranging from baseball to basketball, my competitive passion lied in the sport of basketball. I began to hone in on my craft in middle school. While I pushed myself physically, I simultaneously pushed myself intellectually to understand the sport. My immediate goal is not only to excel academically in high school, but to surpass the boundaries that I expect from myself at a college level. I’m an excellent candidate for your team, as a strong leader and team player, I am an asset. While there is no "I" in "team", we each bring strengths and differences to succeed. As a shooting guard I have learned how to lead my team. What makes me unique is my passion and love to work. Working hard and trusting God are the core reasons I have the gift that I have. I live by this motto, “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.” This core motto drives me everyday to be the best on and off the court. As a "Student-Athlete" I am currently at a "B" average GPA, while pressing toward improvement. While I understand how important basketball is to me, the man of character I have chosen to be encompasses integrity, notability, perseverance, and commitment to excel.
