Noel Matthias '17 Recruiting Profile

I am Noel Matthias and I am of the class of 2017. I play basketball for Young Americans Christian School. I have played varsity basketball since my Sophomore year and I have been blessed to be captain ever since. I am a coachable player and I am eager to learn and study more about the game of basketball. One of the most vital attributes I believe in is respect. Respect should be applied to everyone and everything. No matter how good you are at something or how much you may think you know, respect must be given, whether that is to a teammate, coach, referee, or even your opponent.  Throughout my first three years of playing basketball in high school, I have earned three awards: Most improved player, Coach's award, and the most recent being best offensive player. Outside of practices with my team, I personally train with Coach Jared Bell and Coach Bo Bell. Coach Jared is the brother of a former NBA player and Coach Bo Bell is a former professional basketball who played overseas in Europe. I would like to believe that I am an all around player. I help my team on both ends of the floor. I am top two in scoring, assist, and steals. Despite my love for basketball, I do believe academics do come first. I have a gpa. of a 3.3. I have only taken honors and AP classes throughout high school.
