I always had a competitive spirit in everything I attempted to do as far as I can remember. Not sure if I got it natural from my mom, who played and coached basketball, but the desire to compete is deep in my soul. I started playing basketball competitively in the 5th grade with an Elite Gwinnett Team in Georgia. Since then, it's been my goal and dream to get to the NBA. Since I had the height and the drive, achieving this goal didn't seem far-fetched.
The nickname given to me as a young player was Tim Duncan because of my height, calm spirit, and ability to get the job done quietly! From 5th to 8th grade, I was one of my region's highest big man prospects. My ability to rebound, block, and score was a skill unmatched in my age group until an unexpected injury during an AAU game with TSF. The start of my High School basketball career was an uphill battle because the incident required two surgeries. Despite my health condition, I was still placed on the varsity team as a freshman resulting from my skill level going into H.S.
My coaches tell me that my most vital asset is my work ethic and ability to fight adversity. Most people thought I was selected for top teams because of my height, but that wasn't the case. I was chosen because of my willingness to put the work in 24/7 to become the best defensive and offensive player. My goals and dream are to play NCAA Division 1 basketball and elevate to the professional level.
