Jaymin Khansmith '18 Recruiting Profile

    The sport of basketball has made an undeniable impact on my life.  It gave me a second family, an increased sense of purpose, and insight on how to work with different kinds of people. As my high school career concludes and I begin my transition to college, it would be a dream come true if I am provided the opportunity to play collegiate basketball. As big as my passion is for basketball,  academics are always my main priority. Throughout my run in high school, my desire to learn and work hard has helped me to achieve a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and standardized test scores well above the average person.

     While competing for my club and high school teams, I have been required to play positions 1 through 4.  However, as I enter into the collegiate level, I feel my game best suits the shooting guard/point guard position. Throughout my amateur career, I have never been the biggest or strongest player on the court. This forced me to view the sport more as a mental battle than an athletic game. It also caused me to become great at the little things such as screening defenders, communicating, rebounding, and shooting. I am confident I can fit any role a coach wants me to fill, and I am excited to see where basketball will take me next.
