Keanu Kanekoa '24 Recruiting Profile

My name Keanu kanekoa and I'm from Maui, Hawaii. I've Been playing the game of basketball since I was 8 or 9 years old, Im 15 years old with hopes of playing college ball and beyond. My dream is to make it into the NBA, but I know it all takes time and patience. I know you have to work really hard and work your way up to the league, and I am willing to do so. I get super descent grades, usually always getting above a 3.4 GPA or higher. I am a great leader on and off the court, I was the team captain for my basketball team, and know the game of basketball really well.  I love to help my teammates out when they don't know where to go on the court or when they don't know a play, I love getting my teammates better because I know that's what it takes to be a better leader. I am different from a lot of other recruits because I am open to whatever style of play any coach uses, Iʻm a defensive guard/rebounding guard, I am very silent and sneaky when getting baords and attacking the hoop, I can also be a shooting guard, I can spot up shoot or create my space for myslef to shoot or pissble drive to the hoop. I can either be the shooting guard on the wing and corner to shoot the open 3 or I can be the ball handler/play maker and get the offense going. I prefer to be play both shooting gaurd and point guard but when itʻs needed I can play which ever position I need to, I love diving for loose balls, playing super good defense, never giving up even when I know the game is over,  I just love to play defense and offense and doing what it takes to win even when I know it might even be sacraficing a few shots from me, Ill do whatever it takes, If I only have to score maybe 8 or 10 points rather then scoring 15 to 20 you bet I will do it .  I am a good helper and contributor to my community. I always try to help someone who really needs it even if I know I am doing it for free, I do it with the kindness of my heart. I know school is one of the most important things in life and you canʻt really do too much with out it. I Know I have to have a good GPA in order to make it into any college. Education is definitely something I know is very important. I  love to work very hard and will do whatever it takes for me to get better, and to be a better person.
