Personal Statement

Hello my name is Alex Arango. I’m a 6’2 guard out of Arlington Heights. I'm a versatile guard that can stretch through multiple positions. My strengths are in the open court with my ability to drive to the basket and shooting the ball. I'm a playmaker on both ends of the court, loves playing defense and getting my teammates involved. My overall game is very unique you won’t find a guard that can impact the game in so many ways.

My dream has always been to play at the next level. I’m a very hard working kid that loves the game of basketball. I’m willing to come into a program and make an impact right away.

All Academic Basketball Showcase

The All Academic Basketball Showcase was a great experience for coaches to see me during these difficult times. There were 250+ college coaches watching throughout the two days. I experienced camp exposure and getting to learn more about the recruiting process. I averaged 8.5 points per game, 5.3 Rebounds per game, and 2 Assists per game. I was Top 50 at the showcase in all of these categories.

ActivitiesThe past two years I’ve gotten to do an Internship at Northwest Community Hospital to pay towards my tuition at Saint Viator High School. I also work at Jewel Osco as a part time job during the summer. At school I’m involved in Spanish Club and Ambassadors Club. This summer I’ve been working a study work internship at my high school. I help with marketing and alumni fundraisers for my school.
