My name is Samuel Obed Arias. I live in the Dominican Republic and study at a bilingual Christian school. English is my second language. I am a person that loves the game of basketball with all my heart. I work hard every single day just to be better and learn more from the game. My goal is to reach the collegiate level and to learn from coaches and gain experience from each and every practice and game. I want to learn so that I can lay all that learning on the court to help my team win. My hope is to learn so much that I can reach the next level. Whether is the NBA or just be a professional basketball player in another country, I want to put in all the work necessary to make that goal become a reality. I am a really good candidate for any collegiate team because I will contribute things like: 1. I will score the ball and help the team get necessary points to win. 2. I will always put the team first and if I have to sacrifice any points or even my body for that I will do it no matter what. 3. I will make sure to have good chemistry with my teammates and make the best environment around the team. I understand that getting to the next level takes time and hard work, but that is why I will work as hard as ever to get there. To conclude, what makes me different from other recruits is that I am a very responsible student that always turns work on time and even earlier than the time required. I understand that playing basketball at a college requires me to be good at academics, so I do the best job possible in every work I do. The second reason I am different from other recruits is that not only I am a hard worker, but I am patient and respect any coaches decision, even If don't agree with it. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Everything I do I will do it right.
