Personal Statement

I have grown up in a unique perspective both in sports and culture as I am half American and half French. I have lived my whole life in France but spend several months each year in the USA where I have attended basketball camps and worked with different coaches. This has given me a unique insight into the game; the very physical style of basketball played in the US versus the technical style played in France. I hope to apply the different strengths I have learned from each perspective to continue to improve my game, personally and for my team.

I am a technically solid shooter and I work hard on improving my technique with positioning, footwork and the constant striving for a faster yet accurate release. I have been the go-to shooter on my team each year and have earned much playing time. Coaches also put me in play at the last minute during close games as I can perform under pressure, get open and make my shot.  I have also been the best free-throw shooter on my team. Over the years I have struggled with driving and finishing at the rim with contact, but I have worked hard to develop my physique and this has greatly improved my driving and finishing as well as making me into a much stronger defender.

I am looking for an academic and sports program that will challenge me. I feel I am a good fit for a university basketball program and have many strengths to bring to help advance the program. I am a good shooter and passer and I have a great vision for the game.  This allows me not only to score but to be strong on assists.  I have developed leadership abilities, a hard work ethic and the ability to adapt quickly to different situations. I do not hide from defeat, but rather try to rise to the challenge.

  • 2020 Texas ScoutsFocus State Ranking: 27 Nathan Legagnoux a 5'10 134 lb 2020 prospect of Roland Vasseur de Vigny (TX), is a nice player with scholarship potential.Nathan has great size position and should continue to take advantage of that in addition to possessing length that is a reliable asset to individual and team defense. The prospect showed great handle, and is able to put great pressure on the defense. Nathan really sees the floor at a high level in terms of passing the ball. We would like to see continued work passing with e ither hand and creating misdirection to the defense. The Player is a very effective and versatile shot maker and has great looking form and accuracy. We recommend making at least 500 game speed shots a day in a variety of circumstances from all three levels (floaters, mid range, three both off the screens and off the bounce.Nathan does a great job of knowing what shots are in space and in rhythm. College coaches will be extremely happy with this prospects shot selection. The prospect can finis h at the basket with some consistency and would like to see continued improvement and development finishing through contact whether in practice against physical competition or with cushion dummies. The prospect defends the ball and help side very effectively proving to be a very good asset defensively. The talent has built a good foundation in terms of strength but should continue to get stronger to really develop their body for the next level going against fully developed opponentsand has a d ecent frame that we expect to really develop.Nathan has a very good motor proving to be one of the better ones at campand displayed a high level of toughness that coaches will covet. The talented player has very good athletic ability for size and age and would like to see continued development in speed/agility and vertical development. Jump rope drills are a great full body conditioning drill we highly recommend if not ready for a rigorous weight-training program. Nathan does a tremendous job o f thinking the game and always makes the right decision, which will prove to be a huge asset for the next level raising the ceiling on long term potential. Defensively we would like to see continued improvement both on and off the ball in addition to always seeing ball and man. We would emphasize staying lower on both ends of the court. In addition, we would like you to continue learning how to play without the ball as most players only have the ball a max of 10% of the game (even less if you h ave ball stoppers on your team). We are excited to monitor this prospect's development in the future and would like to see continued development in all areas we rated as needing improvement to fully maximize potential. ScoutsFocus and our college coaching staff believes Nathan has scholarship potential with continued hard work and development both in the classroom and on the hardwood. Can play the 1. AAU Team: St Leu. Attended ScoutsFocus Elite 80 DALLAS 2 Camp on April 1-2, 2017. Highlight Video Link: youtube.com/watch?v=Ak3_kXUK8G0
