Tymon Vesey '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tymon Vesey Jr (TJ) and I am a 6’2’’ combo guard from Davenport, IA. I fell in love with the game of basketball as soon as my parents put a ball in my hands and as I’ve matured into my teenage years, basketball has been a huge part of my everyday life. My family and my faith are major priorities in my life and I strive to let nothing come between those areas, because that’s my foundation and that’s what keeps me grounded. Basketball is my passion!!! I’m a senior now and I believe that my dedication, discipline and devotion to develop in this game is what will propel me to my next level. 

Throughout my life, being a student-athlete has given me a lot of insight that I believe will carry me throughout the rest of my life. Being a student athlete has taught me the valuable lessons to succeed in school, sports and life and in order for me to succeed, I will have to make certain sacrifices that others won't in order for my dreams to come into fruition.  I have a clearer understanding that hard work really pays off and as I grow and develop in life, I hope to become an even greater role model to all my peers, make my parents proud and honor God throughout the process.
