Personal Statement

As a sophomore at Pleasant Valley, a Class 4A High School, I started every game, our team broke the school record for the most consecutive wins (22-0) and I broke the school record for most rebounds in a game.  After working hard to overcome a significant high ankle injury during the early part of my junior year season, I finished the season strong and helped lead my team to the Iowa High School State Basketball Tournament where our team beat the number one seed and finished as a semi-finalist, losing to the team which won the tournament.

I have had a ball in my hand since I started walking.  I love playing basketball and I want to take it to the collegiate level, if possible.   I feel I would be an asset to any team because I have a very strong work ethic, a high basketball IQ and I am willing to do whatever a coach asks me to do.  I work every day to improve and get better.  My goal is to win and have a positive impact on my team in every way possible, whether it is shooting, assisting, rebounding, or defending.

I also have played tackle football since 3rd grade and I am a starter on my varsity football team which had an undefeated 2022 regular season.     I believe that playing football has helped me be a stronger and tougher basketball player.

Academics are very important to me. I currently have a weighted GPA of 3.88 out of 4.0 and I am a National Honor Society member.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
