Academically he is a sound student and has elected to start taking college courses in an effort to lighten the load upon being admitted to a college. He consistently appears on the Principal’s honor roll and maintains at least a 3.5 GPA. Because of his love for the game, the goal is definitely to play basketball.
Tyler was a part of the junior Varsity team that went 15-0 and was voted MVP as a sophomore. He was also recognized, alongside two other teammates, as 1st Team All- Tournament honors in the 2022 Irish Classic Champions where the Bishop Ward boys basketball team were the champions of that tournament. As a junior, Tyler has been selected as one of the team’s captains this coming year with this being his third year playing varsity. He is looking forward to improving his game and showcasing his ability to lead his team.
Tyler is also a part of the boys track and field team. As a sophomore, he was a part of the 4x1 that set a new record not once but twice, the last being at the State meet that took place in Wichita Kansas. It was there that he also set a new PR in the long-jump and medaled third place with a 21’3 jump. Tyler was also a member of the Marcus Denmon Elite AAU basketball team as a both a freshman and sophomore. Both of these have assisted I. His growth as a player.
