Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I am a great candidate for your team because I am a team player and work hard to not only make myself successful on the court, but also making and celebrating my teammates success.
After helping my team win the Maine AA state championship this year, I understand that I need to bring my game to the next level to continue my team‘s success and also my success.  I was our team’s leading scorer in that game, but know my growth as a player needs to continue. I have been working hard this off season and have dropped 40 pounds to continue my development as a player.  I am committed to my diet and exercise to get me to the next level in basketball.  Also, it took some hard work and time, but I don't let kids that are bigger than me get in my head and I never stop competing.  I don't let others beat me physically or mentally.
I am a hard worker and volunteer my time when I can.  The past four years I have volunteered at the local hospital.  And the last two summers I have been also volunteering my time teaching pre-k to 6th graders how to play basketball at our high schools basketball camp.  Athletically, I was only a one sport athlete, but freshman year joined the track team, and this year I joined the football team.  I have been successful in both those sports as well.  But know that joining those teams are also making me a better teammate and athlete for basketball.  Academically, I try my best to get good grades.  As a freshman and sophomore, I made high honors both semesters. And have goals of continuing with those grades.

I look forward to hearing from college coaches and finding my college.

 Sincerely,

John Shea

He can also be a quick finisher and then surprise you with his floor-spacing ability. He shoots a soft ball with great rotation and was virtually automatic at the free-throw line.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
