Going from disliking the sport of basketball completely to being the captain of my JV basketball team my freshman year was what gave me the drive to pursue basketball. Once I realized I had the potential to go much further, the only thing in my way was myself. Growing up in a small town, self taught and self motivated not only taught me leadership qualities, but also the commitment and dedication for what it takes to reach the next level. Because of this, I have also obtained the position as a leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in my community.
Changing schools my junior year to a school known much more for basketball helped me set my priorities straight. Once I put God, family, and academics before basketball, it gave me a better focus on athletics. My work-ethic for basketball helped me set high goals for myself physically as well as academically. I believe being a five-sport athlete and a three-time captain would give me what it takes to not only impact but be a leader on your team!
