I am very passionate about the game of basketball. I truly love the sport, and its appeal is in the fact that it is a thinking game that requires a true competitive drive. The challenge of outwitting an opponent to score has a great appeal to me. I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. I played recreational leagues, YMCA programs, and on my middle school team. I joined my first AAU team in the ninth grade. In ninth grade, I also became part of the Huron High School basketball program. I have played for three years – the freshman team, the junior varsity team and the varsity team.
I also place a high value on education because it is essential to lead a productive life. So attending college to develop academically is important to me. I am interested in schools where I can find the right balance between basketball and academics. At this point in my life, I am undecided as to my career choice. But I love learning and reading about history and I love writing. Therefore, I am interested in a university with a strong liberal arts program which has a basketball program where I could make an impact early in my career.
