I look to do two things in college, win and improve myself on the court and in the classroom. I have played basketball since 6th grade and have always dreamed of playing college basketball. Whether it be playing basketball outside late at night, doing plyometric workouts in my garage during the wintertime, or sacrificing social time to work on my game, I have always loved basketball. If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I will work hard because of my love for the game.
Throughout my high school career, I have achieved a 3.0 culmative GPA. Although, through two quarters of my senior year, I have a 3.7 GPA. I am committed to improving that not only for the rest of this year, but in college as well. I have taken the ACT twice and got a best score of 24. I may take it a third time, but am undecided at this time.
I have played Varsity Basketball for two years now, my Junior and Senior years of high school. My Junior year I came off the bench as the backup center for the district champion St. Francis team. I am now a starter as a senior on St. Francis and hope to make a deep playoff run. Currently, I play center/power forward on my team because of the lack of size we possess. (Three tallest players are all 6-4). I believe that with enough work and time I will be able to transition to the Small Forward/Shooting Guard position in college, though I think that the time as a center will ultimately help me in college. Throughout my 7 years of playing basketball, I have looked to continuously improve, but most importantly win. Every day is a chance to improve oneself and succeed, I truly believe that.
