William Van Scoy '22 Recruiting Profile

My methodical approach to basketball has helped me achieve a leading role on all my teams. I have always been placed with older squads, including starting for a AAAA high school as an 8th grader. I am motivated to work out and take pride in being a leader. For example, as the starting point guard I led my team to improve to 23 wins last season. 

In addition to my goals on the basketball court, I am a strong student who takes pride in getting good grades while taking an advanced honors curriculum. As a senior, I have been in Student Government. Having played for high school and three AAU teams (U15, U16 and U17), I adapt well to different coaching styles, and enjoy a good rapport with my teammates and coaches. I have so much energy and enthusiasm for the game, and it would be a great opportunity to bring that to the college level.
