Owen Bernatz '24 Recruiting Profile

My goals and aspirations start with being a team leader, I work and strive to not only make myself a better player but everyone around me. My lifelong goal has always been to play college basketball for a good coach with some good teammates. I believe I am a good candidate for their team because I know what plays to make at the right times and can play for their team with the coach knowing they can count on me not only on the court but off it as well. I am different from other players because I have the fight and motivation to win no matter what it is, I strive to be the best academically in my class and am always willing to help anyone in need. I came from a private school where they expected their students to serve in the community and build relationships with other people. My dad got me interested in basketball when he was telling me about his "glory days playing high school and college basketball, that's when I decided what I wanted to do. My academic goals include maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher and academically being one of the top in my class. I want to go to college and get great education and get a degree in sports management. I have come over obstacles in my career academically and athletically, I transferred schools my 7th grade year into a whole new environment but I believe that all of the obstacles I have gone through were to get me where I am right now.
