Personal Statement

1- I plan to study sports medicine and specialize in pain and injury.
2- Listen to my coach when he’s speaking. Play hard and be aggressive until the game is over. Be a model teammate.
3- My parents have instilled in me to respect authority, give 100% effort in everything I do, never quit, and demonstrate good work ethic. Never be afraid to ask for help. My dad said “closed mouths don’t get fed”. Always be cognizant of time. I apply these life lessons to my class work, the game of basketball, and everyday life.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsMy name is Maxwell Armstrong, and I made the decision at the end of my freshman year to transfer from a public school with over 1k students to a smaller private/independent school of 300 students. I wanted to become a better student academically, which I felt was my ultimate goal, as well to become a better athlete. I worked hard, attended study groups, and tutoring and by my sophomore year my grades improved dramatically. My study habits, my focus as well as my basketball game improved. My highlight videos and social medial sites all showcase my basketball skills. I am truly blessed for the opportunities I have had on this journey and I’m looking forward to moving on to the next level.
  • Activities1. Annual Father’s Day Camp for sons and fathers. This is an annual event where fathers and their sons camp out in the woods, ATV mud riding, swimming, fishing, and hiking. 2. Volunteered at the Soup Kitchen in Laurel, MS. Served meals to people from the community. 3. Summer of 2022 I was employed at Corner Market restocking merchandise throughout the store.
