Personal Statement

My goal is to get into college basketball and study in computer science & engineering field. What makes me different from others is that I have the determination and desire to reach my goals without giving up on them. Using my hard work and dedication to move forward and learn new things along the way. In basketball I have the same mentality as I have for academics, I always keep pushing through my limits and try to get better every day. I also communicate and contribute with others on and off the court. Always pushing everyone to be better and motivate them as a leader.

Leaving Maui, the island I grew up on. Leaving behind all those childhood memories and everyone I knew, was tough. But, looking at the positives. This move was something I had to accept, in order to be successful and to continue to chase my dreams. Moving here in Las Vegas, was the only way I could get more basketball exposure opportunities and have a better chance of getting into college. Going into my senior year of high school, was like restarting my freshman year again. An unfamiliar school, meeting new people, living a different lifestyle. I was the new kid in school and for the first month, all I did was worry about being alone. I struggled in finding friends and getting help for my schoolwork. But I overcame this, by channeling my focus on what was in front of me which was academics, sports, involving myself and interacting with new people and making new friends. The friends I now have, are great supporters along with my family. I feel like I have a great support system. In sports, I got myself into a new basketball club with new teammates and coaches. Even joining in a fitness gym to workout on a daily and continue to better myself athletically.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
