Dawud Bodley '19 Recruiting Profile

As a young kid I was seeing things that my eyes never knew it will see. Growing up in Newark , New Jersey my neighborhood which is located on 651 South 19th Street it was a rough experience. While my mom having to raise 3 kids on her own its was unpredictable about where my life was going.  While attending elementary school it was really hard to get Jordan's , Nike or anything that was name brand because my mother was struggling. My mother used to cry in our faces because she did the best she could for every celebration or event. As a parent my mother told us don't worry about anything she will do everything so we would not want for nothing.  As a child in elementary I was giving my Mom problems from K-5. I'm not proud to say that is what I put my mother through. My sixth grade year I saw my surroundings and I wanted different for myself so I changed my attitude and behavior. Every since the sixth grade I been on the Super Honor Roll & Honor Roll.  As I grew up and really started to take things seriously my Cousin started working with me and teaching me the basics and fundamentals. Luther Muhammad the Ohio State , commit has played a major part in my basketball career. Every since I was 4 years old I was into basketball. It was so good to have a family members that know a lot about basketball. I like how he told me about the colleges and what division 1 coaches looking for.
