Hello, my name is Benyamin (Ben) Gerber and I'm from Israel. Unlike others, I was not born with a ball in my hands. When I was 6 I used to play with my father at the school basketball court. When I was 8, the coach of the school team recommended me to Bat Yam city basketball team and after one practice I joined to the team. Very quickly I became the main/key player of the team. 12-13 season I named to the captain of the team and we took the 2 place out of 18 participants. Year later, I moved to the U16 team. The coach told me to be ready to became a bench player because I was younger than the others but after only one month I became a starter and played 35 minutes average. All the years in Bat yam I played the PF-C positions. At the same year, at the summer, I went to basketball camp of Arvydas Sabonis in Lithuania and there I started my experience as SG-SF position. 14-15 season I joined to Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball academy after lot of tests and played for the U18 team. I was the youngest again but once again I was the main player of the team. In the academy, I started my transition to SG-SF position. They helped me with extra trainings- Ball handling, outside shots, running, mobility. I participated in tournaments and in every game I was one of the main players and at the critical moments I was on the court.
my better abilities are – Good court vision, I can guard every position and play every position. Very strong physically, and the most important thing: when I'm on the court my teammates ALWAYS looking better and playing better, the defense is more intense and the shooting percentage are much better. I can say that I'm kind of game changer . My -+ always was positive.
What I need to improve – Athletic abilities, and ball handling.
Academics – average of 89.6 out of 100. When I have a goal I spend more time to succeed.
Extra: In Israel, I was active as a coach in volunteer project named "Tzehala" (I have recommendations).
Also I completed a course of national guides for youth with honor from former minister of education of Israel .
My goals are to be professional basketball player and good person in life.
