At barely five years old, my abiding memory takes me back to living in Willingboro, NJ. I recall receiving a fresh new basketball for my 7th birthday. I also vividly remember as a young boy, watching my first basketball game on our old fuzzy TV screen. These nascent experiences set grounds for my remarkable interest in basketball and sports management.
Discovering my passion for basketball was just the beginning of an awakening. However, I clearly understood that the passion alone would not get me there, hard work, sacrifice and pursuing higher education is what will well position me to achieve my goals and excel in the field of sports.
In order to reinforce my hard work and determination, I always dedicate four hours of practice at my school grounds. I have succeeded in becoming an outlier in basketball through dedication and sacrifice. I remember my doctor recommending that I rest for months after fracturing my right arm in junior year of school. However, I remember practicing through pain to get back to my normal routine of play. After going through such pain and suffering, it reaffirmed that nothing can ever separate me from the love that I have for basketball.
Pursing Sports Management in College is a life-long dream that connects me with my passion of playing basketball. I strongly believe that pursuing a degree in Sports Management will help me inspire more students from Pennsauken High School believe in pursuing higher education. I know that my dream to pursue a college degree is not only mine but a dream to inspire many within my community. Being the first to go to college in my family is critical and within my reach with your consideration.
