Luke Cruz '26 Recruiting Profile

Coach,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I am a rising senior with a goal of playing basketball at a high academic college. 

At Rumson-Fair Haven HS, I played Varsity as a freshman and I was a starter on my Varsity team as a sophomore and junior. I was also a captain this past season. We had a strong season (20-7) and advanced to the State Sectional Final Championship game. I was awarded First Team - All State Group 2, First Team All Conference and First Team All Division. I am also currently ranked as the #2 Power Forward in NJ by Prep Hoops. 

As a junior this past high school season, I averaged 17.4 Points, 10.7 Rebounds and 2.5 Blocks per game. I led my team in Points, Rebounds, Blocks and Steals.  I was the top shooter for my team and averaged 40% shooting from the 3.

I have video highlights from my high school season and also film playing with the NJ Shoreshots Rio Under Armour Team for the last 3 years on my YouTube channel. My AAU team is coached by  Coach Mike Rice and my Rumson- Fair Haven high school team is coached by Chris Champeau who is also called Shempy.

Every day, my focus is on my Academics, Strengthening, Building my Basketball Skills and Eating Healthy. I love the grind and everything about basketball and look forward to the day when I can play at the college level.

Besides playing basketball, I like to play chess, play the saxophone, and lifeguard in the summers. I also enjoy coaching and teaching little kids in my community the game of basketball.
