My name is Bryan Martin. I am a scholar student-athlete attending Saddle River Day School, Saddle River NJ Class of 2014. My dream is to attend a college where I can excel academically and be able to have an impact playing college basketball. Presently, I am undecided what field of study to major academically, but I would like to pursue my interests in liberal arts and the sciences.
My passion for basketball began very early in my life. It is a connection that I treasure with my parents who have allowed me to develop into the player I am today. I began playing organized and AAU basketball since grade 3. Being an impact player and blessed with ability to be a team leader and offensive scorer, I have been a starter and leading scorer throughout my lower, middle and high school sports career. My next step is college basketball.
I recently transferred to Saddle River Day School at the start of my junior year 2012-2013 season to pursue a higher level of academic achievement and to develop into the student-athlete that I vision for myself. As a transfer, New Jersey State requires a mandatory 30 day waiting period as I previously played on the varsity team as a sophomore at my prior high school. As a result, I played only 15 of 25 games during the 2012-2013 Varsity Season and worked diligently to earn becoming a starting player averaging 10 ppg in less than 15 minutes per game playing time. I expect to have my breakout year as a senior and look forward to meeting and discussing how I can be an impact player at the college level.
