Daniel Odess Newman '26 Recruiting Profile

 I have played middle school, high school, AAU, and travel league basketball and would like to continue playing in college. Basketball teaches me many qualities, many of which I have and want to continue improving. Practicing with my teammates teaches me teamwork and communication. Coming to practice every day teaches me discipline. Losing teaches me how to persevere and learn from my mistakes. Winning leads me to be proud while staying humble. I have many of these qualities, but I can learn much more. I am unselfish, always looking to put my teammates in a good position. I encourage my teammates after they make a mistake and hold myself accountable whenever I let my team or myself down. I am always willing to learn and improve on and off the basketball court. I have been in the gifted and talented program in New York City from elementary to high school. Playing college basketball will develop my academic life and teach me important life lessons.
