Aleksandar Simic '26 Recruiting Profile

 Hello, my name is Aleksandar Simic. I am a senior at Queens Metropolitan High School. Since I was a little boy, my parents used to enroll me into a bunch of sports and activities. I played tennis for 2 years and realized it was something I didn’t want to pursue. Then, I tried out soccer and I felt like it wasn’t for me either. After that it was karate, but I didn’t see me going anywhere with it. When I was in the 3^rd grade, I finally found a sport that I got attached to and that was basketball. Since then, I continued to focus on playing it every single year on the daily. So over time I learned more about it, and I stayed passionate about the game.

 Over the years, I learned to be a good shooter and I know how to stretch the floor; I always defend and stay in front of my opponent; I am great at observing the court and finding my teammates in the right moments for a pass. My hustle comes with me being able to get a lot of rebounds. On top of that a coach can rely on me to play multiple positions just as I’ve done throughout high school.

 I know that to be successful as an athlete you need good academic results. I’ve always been on top of my schoolwork and kept my GPA as a 90+ average. I’ve gotten multiple honor rolls; praise from my principle, teachers, and my coaches.

 My goal is to be able to play basketball at a collegiate level. I’m ready to take any challenge and work to reach my peak. I strive to be the best player every time I step on the court. I have pride in hustling on both sides of the floor, I respect my teammates and encourage them even if they are struggling, I know how to step up and lead my team when it’s needed. I am not afraid to take criticism on what I can be better at, I recognize my coaches and teammates opinions. As my varsity coach Faya says about me, “He is not just waiting for success to happen; not the way many people just think the future will magically fall upon them and bring success.”
