I am relentless in my work ethic and I will out-hustle the guy next to me - every time. As an 8th grader I made the JV Basketball team. Day-in and day-out I worked hard and earned a starting spot and played nearly every minute of every game, and I led the team in points that season. I made the Varsity team as a Freshman and continued to work even harder to earn quality play time. As a returner to the Varsity squad this past season as a sophomore and starter, I carried the role of a leader in every way - whether it be during practice, in the classroom, or on the court in a game...I know I have the responsibility to be a leader and a key member and motivator of my team.
While I am blessed to be athletic, my work-ethic is not to be surpassed. I am a strong leader in and out of the classroom and I am very well-respected by teachers, classmates, teammates, and coaches. My ultimate goal is to continue my education and career in basketball at the collegiate level. I will do what it takes to be successful in both.

- Stats shown are from the 2018 AAU Season. Matthew joined the Golden Eagles in 2016. After dominating and winning all of the local tournaments in 2016, they took on a more competitive schedule primarily in Zero Gravity and various invitational out-of-state tournaments. Although they struggled in 2017, they won numerous tournaments in 2018 and earned a bid to play at Nationals in Boston.

- CYO Team won Ulster County Championship Grades 5-8; Inter-County Championship Grades 6-7; Final Four Contender Grades 6-7; Won the St. Martin DePorres Basketball Tournament Grades 5-7. In all five years of CYO, I led the team in points, assists, rebounds, and steals.
