Basketball has and always will have a special place in my heart. This wonderful sport birthed me the opportunity to grow as an individual and an athlete. My early experiences at the All American Basketball Camp molded a mentality of hard work and discipline, regardless of my abilities, or my opponents abilities. My identity is centered around a great philosophical principle that my late mentor and coach told me. “Somebody has to be the best, why not you?” - Gus Alfieri. Any opportunity that I encounter I always think back to Gus’s words and strive to be the best, no matter the circumstance. In the eyes of basketball, this way of thinking compliments my heart for the game, and would allow me to contribute to a team’s success. Not only am I willing to bring it on and empty the tank every chance I get, I am going to walk the walk.
