My name is Jeremiah Manley and I am a 5’10, 140 lb, versatile left handed point guard. Basketball is a huge part of my life. I started playing YMCA Basketball at the age of 3 years old and AAU basketball at 8 years old. Basketball has given me the opportunity to excel as a leader among my peers. Basketball has taught me that patience, persistence and a strong work ethic will help me be successful not only on the court but off it as well. It has also taught me that challenges will come and that even when things get hard, I can use what I have learned during tough times to help me to be successful.
During this pandemic, I have found ways to continue to work on my shooting and ball handling skills and being a better defender. I have found creative ways to workout around my house and find outdoor goals to put up shoots. During my senior season, I will continue to work hard to develop my overall game - offensive and defensive skills. I am a true point guard, I am a floor facilitator, I look to pass first and get my teammates involved, I'm not afraid to be coached hard and work even harder to be the best I can be.
Since entering high school, I am a 3-year varsity player; in my Sophomore year, I played behind 4 seniors, where I learned the system to prepare for a bigger role in my junior year. During my junior year, I competed with great talent and emerged as a leader for my team. I have continued to grow and learn how to be the best player I can be while maintaining a 3.5+ GPA. During my first year of high school, I earned the MVP Award for the Junior Varsity team. Sophomore year, I earned First-year Varsity letterman award and the academic high achievement award. This year I was voted "Player of the Game" by my coaches and teammates.
I am looking forward to finding a school that will allow me to have a well-rounded college experience consisting of a great education and to follow my lifelong dream of playing basketball at the college level.
