My name is Izzy Ross. My two passions are playing basketball and mechanical engineering. Achieving my goals of playing collegiate basketball and being a mechanical engineer have a lot in common. Both require focus, dedication, persistence, learning from mistakes and working with others to reach a common goal.
I believe that I stand out from other players in several ways. In my play, I put my team before myself. I view feedback about my performance as an opportunity to improve my game. Whether we are winning or losing, I stay positive and have a good attitude. On and off of the court, I give my best effort.
With ten years of basketball experience and my experience playing many sports over the years, I have a well-rounded athletic background. On the court, as a guard, I am fast and aggressive. My skills include shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, and court vision.
Along with playing sports year-round, I strive to excel academically. The majority of my classes are AP and Honors. I am on track to reach my academic goals to graduate high school with above a 4.0 GPA and attend an elite college to study mechanical engineering.
I have a lot to offer the right college, both athletically and academically. I hope to make a significant contribution to a collegiate basketball program that can help me continue to grow as both a player and a person.
