Payton Lewis '21 Recruiting Profile

I would like to go to a small to medium sized college that has a good support system, both academically and athletically.  I struggled academically for a few years, but finally learned how to motivate myself in school because I realized that my drive for basketball would get me nowhere without improving my grades.  I have worked hard to create new habits and have learned a lot about how to be a mature student and athlete over the past two years.  I am committed to doing whatever it takes to excel both in my classes and on the court.  

I am looking forward to being a part of a college community,  growing as a player and student, and making positive contributions to my team and school. Because of my height, people who meet me are usually surprised when they find out that I excel in basketball, but if you are willing to take a chance on me, you will quickly see that what I lack in height, I make up for in heart.  I'm not easily intimidated, and I give all that I've got to win.   I am mentally tough, have a good work ethic, strong leadership skills, a very high basketball IQ, and an indescribable love for basketball.
