Personal Statement
I found the love for basketball when I started shooting the Elks Hoop Shoot and Knights of Columbus Free Throw competitions as a young boy. As a 9-year-old, I won the international Knights of Columbus free throw competition and many other awards in my hoop shoot/free throw competition career. That experience of competition fed my need to play basketball and work towards being the best that I can be. I have a goal of playing college basketball and my fierce competitive nature only pushes me further to make that goal come true.
My parents and my older brother are very supportive of my basketball goals. I am fortunate to be able to play AAU basketball during the summer months with an awesome team and for a great coach. My high school coach is counting on me as a high school sophomore to lead the team and take control of the game helping my teammates to play the best that we can play. My strength and skills include the ability to play both guard and forward, and having the ability to consistently score from inside, outside, or from the free throw line. My defense is aggressive but smart. I am dedicated on and off the court, working to increase my strength and agility through consistent weight and speed training. I choose to be a leader and work towards taking on that leadership role. I know I will be a leader for your team as well.
